Memorial Day Message
For over 245 years, Americans have honored those who have fallen in defense of our homes and families. President Abraham Lincoln expressed this sacrifice as, “giving their last full measure of devotion, that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” Once again, we pause to honor those who sacrificed their lives, for us who were left behind. Let no one misunderstand, those men and women, who fell never to rise again would have loved to have come home, into the arms of their families and loved ones. But they stood and with all they had, delivered all they could, for an America growing and working to be worthy of their sacrifice. We can only ask God for peace and grace for those patriots, gathered under arms, and laid down forever in the pursuit of a better America! May God bless them.
